Spanish-American Memorial

Bloom Park
Spanish-American Memorial
Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland

Bloom Park History

I found this memorial courtesy of an article from 2011 "Driving tour through Washington County history".  The park was a little tricky to find only because of the numerous one way streets that make up downtown Hagerstown, Maryland but well worth it. The park was dedicated in 1900 and the monument in 1949. Also added to the site is a monument to the Disabled Veterans of America. The park features a cannon captured in Cuba.

I know of Spanish-American War memorials at Arlington Cemetery but this is the first one I have run across in my travels.
